Approximately 6 million companion animals enter a shelter in the United States each year. According to the ASPCA, as many as 4 million are euthanized in shelters each year. Nearly 60 percent of dogs that enter an animal shelter are ultimately euthanized the precentage of dogs euthanized is marginally higher in the souther states.
Louisiana Lifeline 4 K-9's is a volunteer run, no profit organization, dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of at-risk dogs. To cover the expenses of rescuing dogs we rely on donations and fundraising efforts. Please consider donating to our mission.
Lifeline accepts monetary donations as well as in-kind donations, such as blankets, crates, toys, playpens, raffel items, yard sale items and more. We also collect cans and empty dog/cat food bags.
